Ministry: Russian gold output rises 3.7% to 19.62 tns in January
MOSCOW, Apr 8 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gold output rose by 3.7% on the year to 19.62 tonnes in January, the Finance Ministry said on Friday citing supplies to the refining plants.
Mined gold output rose by 5.7% to 16.44 tonnes, while by-product gold output increased by 8.5% to 1.17 tonnes and production of gold scrap fell 12.8% to 1.91 tonnes.
Russia’s silver output decreased 6% to 64.24 tonnes in the month. Primary silver production fell by 7.98% to 31.16 tonnes and by-product silver output fell by 2.6% to 21.37 tonnes, while production of silver scrap shrank by 6.6% to 12.54 tonnes.
In 2021, Russia’s gold production increased by 1.84% to 246.42 tonnes and the output of silver fell 2.07% to 945.7 tonnes.
